About us

Mepal Outdoor Centre

Mepal Outdoor Centre is a purpose-built outdoor activity centre with dormitories, a campsite, a cafe for meals and a stunning 20 acre lake. The Centre can accommodate residential groups of 36. For the more adventurous, our campsite can accommodate 50 – 80 visitors.

Our welcome: One of the advantages of being a small centre is that we look after all our guests as if they were our own family. Our accommodation is clean and functional, the food we provide is of a good standard and we are happy to cater for special diets.

Our activities: We offer a wide range of challenging land and water-based activities. We continually seek to expand our offering and are always grateful for feedback on what else we could offer and what we might do better.

Our team: All staff are carefully selected and fully trained; written references are taken up and enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service checks undertaken. Instructors are qualified with the appropriate National Governing Body awards and are fully inducted in the use of the Centre’s facilities before they begin working with the public.

Our accreditations: Mepal Outdoor Centre is accredited by the Adventure Activities Licensing Authority for climbing and watersports. We are also an accredited training centre for the Royal Yachting Association and the British Canoe Union and hold the Learning Outside the Classroom quality badge.

Mepal Outdoor Centre is run by the Mepal Outdoor Centre Charitable Trust, registered charity number 290429.
