A four day programme ( two weekends) course leading to the BCU/UKCC Level 1 coach award.  Pre-requisites for this are a current First Aid certificate, Foundation Safety and Rescue Course (or Canoe Safety Test) and a ‘new’ two star award.  Assessment forms part of the four day programme. You MUST register with Canoe England at least a fortnight before the commencement of the course in order to obtain the workbook in advance of the course. If you turn up here without a workbook you will not be able to participate in the course. Registration costs £55 (£39 registration fee and £16 third party insurance. It is a better option to join the BCU as a Comprehensive member (do this online) and then pay £39 to register. BCU membership includes 3rd party insurance, navigation licences, support and bimonthly magazine. In any event you must take out BCU membership in 2011 if you wish to maintain the award.

Course 1 dates: 17th, 18th April & 1st, 2nd May. Course 2 dates: 21st, 22nd, 28th & 29th August.
